Skylight shades provide the enormous benefit of being able to control the heat and UV from skylight windows during different seasons or different times of day. There are shade products designed specifically for this purpose, a favorite being the cellular shade, which is an excellent insulator, attractive, and very unobtrusive when it is not needed.
